Meteora monasteries (duration 90′ – 120′) First day / First stop

Meteora, meaning suspended in the air, is one of the top places and unique phenomenon of cultural heritage as was characterised by UNESCO. This geological rock formation occurred about 60 millions of years ago in the Paleogene period. A breathtaking landscape of columns of rock accommodate a complex of orthodox monasteries perched on top of the hills, six of which still function today. They were once only accessible using ladders tied together or large nets but nowadays they are accessible by hundreds of staircases and pathways and have many visitors all year round.

Kalambaka (duration 90′ – 120′) First day / Second stop
An amazing place for people who love nature and would like to visit a craven ( Theopetra) which is the only one excavated in Thessaly and in Greece in general. The formation of the limestone of Theopetra is dated back to the Cretaceous period (137.000.000-65.000.000) and the scientific importance of which is very important for the prehistory of all the Hellenic space.

A visitor can also discover its unique character visiting the old town (Ano Polis), Traditional Markets and so on. Archaeological site of Vergina (duration 60′ – 90′) Third day

Vergina is located in Central Macedonia the site of the ancient Aigai (capital of Ancient Macedonia). One of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century was the royal palace and the location of the tombs of the kings of Macedonia. One of the most significant archaeological museums in Greece, the museum of Vergina was built to house the excavation artifacts from the burials. A World Heritage Site protected by UNESCO with an erormous impact universally make it one of the top places to visit. A visitor can see the tomb of Philip II (father of Alexander the Great), the tomb of the Prince III (probably belonging to the son of Alexander the Great), a Macedonian tomb of a great family as well as two golden urns, two golden wreaths and many more burial artifacts.
