Arachova (duration 15′ – 30′) First stop
Our first stop is located at the foothills of mountain Parnassus and in close proximity to the town of Delphi, there is a little picturesque town with a panoramic view and popular as a ski resort. Famous for its unique local cheese with a protected designation of origin, wine, carpets and rugs, colourful textiles, handicrafts and woodcut creations, lively bars, taverns and restaurants, Arachova offers a cosmopolitan Greek mountain experience.

Archaeological site of Delphi (duration 60′ – 90′) Second stop

Located at southwestern slope of Mount Parnassus, Delphi is a large archaeological site with a small modern town named after the word “delphini” (dolphin). According to mythology Delphi was considered the navel of the earth and became really powerful, because it was the home of the most famous oracle for the ancient world. It was at this particular point that the most powerful woman of the ancient world, Pythia, influenced through her prophecies the decisions of many people of the time. Recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and certainly one of the most spectacular and significant sites of Greece as it played a key role in the ancient world.

One of the most significant monuments of Middle Byzantine art and architecture that the UNESCO listed as a World Heritage Site is Ossios Loukas monastery located at a spectacular site on the slopes of mountain Helikon, in central Greece. Hermit Loukas Stereiotis, the relics of whom are placed in the monastery to this day, has founded the monastery. It represents the largest 10th century monastery in Greece.
