Acropolis (duration 60′ – 90′) First stop

We start our private guided tour with the Acropolis of Athens or known as well as the “Sacred Rock”, which is the greatest heritage bequeathed by the Greek Antiquity to the world. In the second half of the fifth century BC, Athens celebrates the significant victory over the Persians and establishes democracy, achieving a leading position amongst the other city-states of the ancient world. In the years that follow, art and thought flourish and the ambitious Athenian statesman Pericles coordinates a unique group of artists to transform the rocky hill into the exceptional monument. The Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Erechtheion and the temple of Athena Nike are the greatest monuments built on it during that time.

Corinth canal ( duration 15′) Second stop

It had been an inspiration for more than 2700 years ! The man who first had the idea of constructing the canal, was Periandros the tyrant from Corinth. Though he found it difficult on the way and he came up to another interesting idea . The name of it was diolkos . Finally after several people trying to succeed in this huge and important achievement, the canal was constructed in 1893.

Ancient Corinth (duration 45′ – 60′) Third stop

An important city-state of ancient Peloponnese which became really powerful and rich, with great interest for splendid buildings such as the temple of Apollo (560 BC), the fountain of Peirene, the Roman concert hall, the Isthmian Games that organised (similar to those in Olympia), the baths and so on.
