Acropolis of Athens (duration 90′ – 120)
The full day starts with the greatest heritage bequeathed by the Greek antiquity to the world. In the second half of the fifth century BC, Athens celebrates the significant victory over the Persians and establishes democracy, achieving a leading position amongst the other city-states of the ancient world. In the years that follow, art and thought flourish and the ambitious Athenian statesman Pericles coordinates a unique group of artists to transform the rocky hill into the exceptional monument also called the “Sacred Rock”. The Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Erechtheion and the temple of Athena Nike are the greatest monuments built on it during that time.
Corinth canal (duration 15′)
Our second stop it had been an inspiration for almost 2500 years. The man who first had the idea was Periandros the tyrant from Corinth. He found it difficult on the way but he came up to another interesting idea . The name of it was diolkos . For those who had money and didn’t want to sail around Peloponnese peninsula. Finally after several people trying to succeed in this huge achievement, the canale was constructed in 1893.
Palamidi castle (duration 15′ – 30′)
Our last stop is the castle which we preserve in excellent condition and is of great Venetian fortification architecture. It is accessed by the road or by the famous steps that are supposed to be 999 ! We leave it to you to find out ! The panoramic view from here is amazing !

Archaeological site of Mycenae
Mycenae ‘Rich in Gold’, the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon which first sung by Homer in his epics, is the most important and richest palatial centre of the Late Bronze Age in Greece. In the second millennium BC, Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization. A military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece Crete, the Cyclades and parts of southwest Anatolia. Therefore the period of Greek history from about 1600 BC to about 1100 BC is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae.
At its peak in 1350 BC, the citadel and lower town had a population of 30,000 and it was at that time when they rebuilt the fortification walls , known as cyclopean. Easily overlooked the whole area and was ideally positioned to be a centre of power. Besides its strong defensive and strategic position, it had good farmland and an adequate water supply. There are only faint traces of Neolithic settlement on the site although it was continuously occupied from the Early Neolithic 5000– 4000 BC through the Early Helladic 3200– 2000 BC and Middle Helladic 2000– 1550 BC periods.
Epidaurus
A small city in ancient Greece, in Peloponnese, and one of the most significant archaeological sites of the country. The Asclepeion was the most praised healing centre of the classical world and where ill people went to be cured. There were also mineral springs used for healing. The ancient theatre is famous for the exceptional acoustics, symmetry, beauty and can hold up to 14,000 people. We still use it today during the Summer Festival of Epidaurus.
